The Greenhouse

The Greenhouse is a 12-month accelerator supporting early-stage (“pre-seed”) startups and spinouts with high potential deeptech, fintech, cleantech solutions to tackle climate change. It helps them get investor-ready and boost their commercial success.

Who should apply?

> Founders tackling climate change with science- or tech-based innovations – including deep-tech

> Startups and spinouts at early-stage (pre-seed or seed)

> Ventures that are UK-based – companies registered in the UK or willing to do so

> Teams that are able to attend in-person sessions in London

Apply for Earth Scale
EarthScale

EarthScale is a UK-wide 12-month programme supporting IP-rich climate tech ventures to scale, navigate manufacturing and raise Series A funding. Each venture receives a bespoke programme of support based on needs.

Deadline: 13 April 2026

Who should apply?
EarthScale is aimed at ventures developing climate solutions for net zero or climate resilience at TRL/SwRL 5-6, with seed funding already raised and plans to raise Series A by the end of the programme. The focus is on hardware and hybrid solutions, with limited places for software-only ventures. You do not need a university affiliation to apply.
What startups get

Each startup receives a tailored venture diagnostic to develop a bespoke programme of support. This could
include:

> Access to cutting-edge labs, facilities and technical expertise across the UK, including via pre-paid innovation vouchers from participating universities.

> Investor introductions, one-to-one investment readiness coaching, and workshops on topics such as financial modelling and non-dilutive funding.

> Guidance on hiring strategy and attracting the right senior talent.

> Opportunities to engage with high-level policymakers and experts on certifications, procurement and regulatory hurdles.

Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) Accelerator
CDR Accelerator

The Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) Accelerator is designed specifically for greenhouse gas removal, or carbon dioxide removal (GGR/CDR) companies, focusing on the unique challenges facing GGR startups as they move from lab to market.

Deadline: 19 April 2026

Who should apply?
The CDR Accelerator supports companies that have a live product (TRL 4-7), looking to raise Seed, and Series A rounds.

The company must be UK-incorporated or willing to register immediately upon selection. Founders don’t need to be London-based, but the business must have a UK-based HQ and be able to attend in-person sessions at Imperial/Oxford locations when required.

The founder(s) must also commit to six months of programming.

We recognise the value of diversity in innovation and acknowledge the current underrepresentation in the climate tech sector. We actively encourage applications from women, Black and other minority ethnic groups, disabled persons, and people from all backgrounds.

The programme includes:

Bespoke GGR/CDR workshops (carbon insurance, dMRV, TEA, policy and regulation, capital stack, certifications)

Access to Greenhouse core modules (customer discovery, product and tech, commercial models, IP, fundraising)

1-to-1 mentoring and expert office hours

Investor connections and corporate introductions

Networking events and a Founders Retreat

Cross-pollination with GGR/CDR startups across the wider CO2RE portfolio

Climate Investment Challenge logo
The CIC

The Climate Investment Challenge (CIC) – a global fintech competition – calls on university students to identify untapped climate finance opportunities and develop innovative financial structures or instruments that improve the bankability of climate investments.

Deadline: 16 March 2026

Who should apply?
> The CIC is open to postgraduate students worldwide.

> Teams consist of 2-6 members, with at least one member being a postgraduate student enrolled in an MSc, MBA, PhD programme, or equivalent.

> Teams can consist of members from the same university or a variety of universities.

> Solutions must be original to those in the team (i.e., you cannot pitch a solution which a company or platform has already developed).

MSc Cleantech Innovation

This hands-on, interdisciplinary course is designed to equip aspiring climate entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge necessary to create revolutionary cleantech innovation, delivered as a partnership between Imperial’s Grantham Institute – Climate Change and the Environment and Dyson School of Design Engineering.
