The Global Network powered by Undaunted

Today’s global climate and nature innovation support ecosystem is fragmented, underfunded, and difficult to navigate. The Global Network powered by Undaunted at Imperial College London is an ambitious initiative transforming support for climate and nature innovators everywhere to deliver the environmental impact so urgently needed at the pace and scale required.

Together against the climate crisis: what is The Global Network?

The Global Network is connecting and empowering the world’s climate and nature Entrepreneur Support Organisations (ESOs), including accelerators, incubators, fellowships, venture builders and more. Together, we are developing a stronger, more cohesive, and better-resourced innovation ecosystem enabling more innovators around the world to create and scale high quality solutions rapidly.
We are building a dynamic, highly engaged community that fosters trust and collaboration among ESOs worldwide. Through vibrant events, programmes, and an interactive online platform, The Global Network enables members to share knowledge, exchange opportunities and access resources that help them operate more efficiently and support more innovators more effectively in more places.

The Global Network will help members grow stronger pipelines of well-prepared innovators and accelerate market access – connecting solutions to the right markets at the right time to achieve global scale and impact.

The Global Network is also integrating key stakeholders from across the wider climate and nature innovation landscape, connecting innovators, corporate partners, investors, funders, and policy makers to unlock new opportunities for collaboration, broaden funding access for ESOs and their innovators, and foster market conditions essential for scaling impactful solutions at pace.

Wider benefits

The Global Network will work collectively to make the climate and nature innovation ecosystem more transparent, connected and navigable, enabling high quality innovation to thrive wherever in the world it is founded and scaled, benefitting stakeholders across the board:

  • Innovators will gain access to the right end-to-end support wherever they are, at any stage, and for any type of innovation, and be able to access new markets more easily.
  • Corporate Partners can identify, connect, and collaborate with ESOs and innovators to solve specific challenges and address systemic issues, building stronger, more resilient business models and supply chains.
  • Investors will access better deal flow from ESOs worldwide, supporting ventures that are more developed, internationally scalable, and investment-ready than they would otherwise have been.
  • Funders – including philanthropy and NGOs – can deliver greater impact by easily identifying and collaborating with better-resourced, more effective ESOs aligned with their goals.

  • Policy Makers will gain valuable data and input to improve innovation policy and build resilient economies, with The Global Network acting as a collective voice for members to influence and shape policy.

Network founders

The Global Network is powered by Undaunted, which is a partnership between Imperial College London and The Royal Institution.

Launched in November 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa, during Earthshot Week 2024, The Earthshot Prize was instrumental in The Global Network’s conception and early development, and it continues to support and endorse our work.

“Like The Earthshot Prize, accelerators exist to speed solutions to scale. Scaling enough climate solutions across the world will require entrepreneurs to successfully take their solutions from one market to the next. This network offers new hope that we can collectively increase the speed and likelihood of startups achieving scale and global positive impact.”

Hannah Jones, CEO of The Earthshot Prize

“It’s brilliant to see that the number organisations dedicated to supporting green innovators globally is flourishing – we are seeing the emergence of a thriving world-wide web of action to create a sustainable and just future. This kind of tailor-made support for green founders is vital in our efforts to tackle the world’s climate and environmental challenges in intelligent ways, at pace, at scale, and taking all of the world’s citizens with us on this journey.

What’s missing is a way to harness the power of these hubs across countries and continents. We need to work together to more equitably distribute opportunities and resources; to channel the vital expertise and infrastructure, funders and markets, that these accelerators offer towards the right founders at the right time, to maximise our collective impact. The new network brings together world-leaders in climate innovation support to make this happen. Join us!”

Undaunted

Since 2012 Undaunted has refined a model for accelerating applicable, practical and adaptable solutions that make a difference on a global scale. We envision a world with a healthy, global climate innovation ecosystem, with diverse innovators leading businesses of all sizes that are delivering significant emissions reductions and climate resilience sustainably and at scale.

Our programmes create new routes into green entrepreneurship; nurture the next-generation of high-potential pre-seed startups; enable innovators in the challenging early stages of scaling and commercialisation; draw together a strategic network of climate innovation supporters across Imperial, London, the UK and beyond.
