Imperial wins Outstanding Entrepreneurial University at Times Higher Education Awards

The THE prize was given in recognition of Imperial’s efforts to harness the university’s innovation for global impact and expand opportunities for entrepreneurship in the UK and abroad. Imperial’s unique entrepreneurial ecosystem is key to this mission, through initiatives such as the Undaunted. In 2024, Imperial was named Europe’s leading large university (£1bn+) for startup creation by the Redstone University Startup Index, and Enterprise Lab and Undaunted were ranked among Europe’s top 60 startup hubs by the Financial Times.

STEM meets style: Imperial spinout showcased in leading fashion publication

Exciting news from DyeRecycle: not only has the team collaborated with fashion designer Patrick McDowell, but their partnership has been featured in Vogue Italia!

Founded from research within Imperial’s Department of Chemical Engineering, DyeRecycle is transforming the way the fashion industry reuses and recycles dyes from textiles. It progressed through Undaunted’s Greenhouse accelerator in 2023.

Undaunted’s newest Greenhouse cohort comprises 19 early-stage, ‘pre-seed’ startups who are ready to take their tech to the next level: validating their business models, landing pilots, and raising investment.

“These are the founders of the future, actively working to make our lives more sustainable, significantly reducing the emissions and waste we produce and envisioning how we can adapt resiliently in the face of climate change,” says Head of The Greenhouse, Maiko Schaffrath.
